About us

EGS is a small consultancy company based in Ilkley, West Yorkshire. The company is run by its founder and director, Michael Baldwin (pictured right).

Michael obtained a first class degree in chemistry at the University of Bristol, before pursuing a career in research management. He worked for a research management company for 6 years, gaining considerable experience in proposal writing and as a project manager supporting FP4 and FP5 projects.

In 2001, he set up Engedi Science Ltd as an independent consultancy, and has continued to provide high quality support for researchers throughout FP6, and now in FP7.

EGS company values:

• EGS aims to provide a high quality, hands-on service at all stages of the life of a research project
• EGS advises clients to maintain strict compliance with the regulations of the funding agency, especially in relation to financial aspects
• EGS is concerned to reduce the impact of its operations on the environment. Alternatives to air travel are used where possible, and our office is supplied with electricity from renewable sources

The company name is taken from the oasis of Ein Gedi, on the shores of the Dead Sea (pictured right). This was a place of refuge in biblical times, and is now a beautiful nature reserve.
