Project managementEGS supports the efficient management of international research projects. Multi-partner projects require ongoing coordination, and professional management ensures that projects stay on track. Funding agencies require periodic reports on activities and financial aspects.
EGS provides project management services as a separate activity from proposal development. Project management is normally directly funded in the project budget, with EGS supporting the project coordinator.
A dedicated project manager can be supplied to assist with monitoring of project progress, organisation and minuting of meetings, and drafting of reports for the funding agency. Alternatively, EGS can provide advice as required, or support the training of management staff.
Regular contact is maintained with all partners. In addition to telephone and email, EGS is encouraging the set up of project intranets for exchange of data, archiving of documents, and provision of on-line discussion forums.
Webconferencing is a useful supplement to face-to-face meetings, saving the cost of international travel and associated environmental impacts.
EGS can also support project publicity and dissemination of results, including the design of websites and project publicity materials, organisation of conferences and press releases, and preparation of project reports for the general public. |
